Formia Glass (officially Mian Furnace) has been synonymous with Murano glassmaking for over 40 years. Formed by Alfio Mian and hsi son Giuliano in 1962, the company still operates today involving the third generation of the family.
Whilst the name of the company is Mian Furnace, the Formia Glass brand was used on many of the company's glass decorative objects sold.
Mian Furnace has attracted many glass masters over the years. The number has grown to 10 team members headed by the masters and assisted by 60 skilled artisans and craftsmen. The factory is now part of the most important glass factories on the island.
