Shade Material Hand-made in-house from premium West German vintage fabric. The pattern can be seen in a couple different ways, as demonstrated in the images.

Dimensions 102cm (40") tall, 25cm (10") diameter.

Wiring Professionally rewired to meet Australian electrical standards, with a switch on the cable. Cable colour is white.

Bulb Fits a standard B22 bayonet light bulb.

Condition Great to excellent condition with no major wear that we can see. One small repair to the ceramic, near the top of the lamp where the timber is connected, around the reverse side and out of sight.

Orders are dispatched within Australia Post via Standard Post. If you require Express Post, please make contact and a quote can be provided. 

For most items shipped via Standard Post, shipping is capped at $20 for under 5kg and $30 for greater than 5kg. Shipping for larger items like lamps will vary between $50-$60. Extra larger items such as wall sculptures will vary again.

About the Maker

Rakumba Pottery

Rakumba Pottery began in Melbourne in 1968, founded by Lyndsay Betts as a small ceramics business. Its early production included vases and ceramic table lamps, establishing a connection between decorative pottery and domestic lighting that would shape the company's development.

The workshop manufactured ceramic lamp bases and handmade lampshades, primarily for the residential market. These pottery origins are an important distinction for vintage collectors: early Rakumba pieces belong to the company's ceramic-making period, rather than its later identity as a contemporary lighting manufacturer.

Over time, the business moved from ceramic lamps into larger-scale commercial lighting. Michael Murray purchased Rakumba in 2009, beginning a further stage of development through new materials, refined production methods and collaborations with established designers.

Today, Rakumba continues as a Melbourne-based decorative lighting design and manufacturing company, producing contemporary collections and bespoke installations. Its evolution from a small pottery workshop to an internationally recognised lighting brand gives the surviving early ceramics a distinctive place within Australian design history.
