About the Maker

Jonathan Adler

Potter, designer, and author Jonathan Adler launched his namesake brand after leaving his day job to pursue his first true love: pottery. His talent for blending traditional craftsmanship with a highly modern aesthetic quickly caught the attention of the high-end design world. In 1993, Barneys New York purchased his debut collection of pots, and just five years later, he opened his very first flagship boutique in Manhattan’s Soho district.

Today, the brand has evolved into a comprehensive design house celebrated for its signature aesthetic of bold, irreverent luxury. The collections are recognisable for their energy, vibrant colours, premium materials, and playful motifs. Its Soho pottery studio remains a centre for developing original clay models, rather than the manufacturing location for every finished product. For collections such as Utopia, Jonathan and his team hand-sculpt prototypes in Soho before skilled artisans in Peru produce the pieces in high-fired stoneware.

While Jonathan Adler is now a thriving global business, his highly sought-after ceramics remain at the very heart of the brand.

We are proud to be a curated Australian retailer for the design house, offering a carefully selected range of his most iconic, statement-making pieces.
