Company Edelstein Bavaria
Porzellanfabrik J. Edelstein AG (commonly known as Edelstein Bavaria) was founded in 1919 when Julius Edelstein and Isidor Grünebaum acquired the Oberfränkische Porzellanfabrik in Küps, Bavaria, Germany. The company modernised its facilities, transitioned into a stock corporation in 1923, and grew into a premier German porcelain brand that directly competed with major manufacturers like Rosenthal.
Edelstein specialised in high-quality, thin-walled transparent tableware and decorative porcelain, utilizing Neo-Baroque, Rococo, and contemporary mid-century relief styles. Following restructuring in the 1930s and disruptions during World War II, the factory resumed operations in the post-war era before permanently closing its production lines in 1973.
