Braemore Pottery was set up by Russell Cowan (1892-1962) in Waitara, NSW, in 1939. After Cowan died, his son Geoff took over management, keeping the Russell Cowan Pty Ltd company name.
In the mid 1960s, the company entered into an agreement with the German company Carstens to make a range of vases and jugs under the name Braemore Carstens brand.
The company ceased operations in 1985.
