Founded in Pesaro, Italy, in 1958 by artist Franco Bastianelli, Studio Laurana Rame D'Arte (translating to 'Art Copper') is known for its mid-century metalwork. Bastianelli, who studied at the Mengaroni Art School under renowned sculptor Giuliano Vangi, became highly influential in the Mid-Century Modern and Brutalist design movements.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, his studio handcrafted striking decor by hammering and flame-cutting raw copper, which was then finished with vibrant, blended enamelling. Today, Bastianelli's distinctive creations are highly prized statement pieces.
