Released in 1976, the Granada and Agadir patterns represent a shift in Villeroy & Boch’s production toward late mid-century minimalism. While the company's 1960s designs featured detailed, multi-coloured illustrations, these sister patterns focus entirely on saturated block colour and geometric contrast.

Both patterns feature the exact same minimalist design: a solid-coloured central glaze framed by a contrasting brown edge. The distinction between the two lies entirely in their colourways. Granada is the red iteration, while Agadir is the green iteration. Both lines were manufactured using Villeroy & Boch’s proprietary "vitro-porcelain," a high-fired ceramic process engineered specifically for high durability and chip resistance in everyday domestic settings.
