ISHIZUKA Glass traces its origins back to 1819 during the Bunsei 2 era when Iwazaburo Ishizuka started glass manufacturing in Tsuchida, Kani City, Gifu Prefecture, where it is located today. Initially, they specialized in beadwork on orders from the Owari Domain's feudal lord.

However, they gradually shifted their focus to glass production during the Meiji and Taisho periods. The turning point came in 1927, during the Showa 2 era, when they achieved success in melting raw materials in a Siemens tank furnace for the first time in Japan. This marked a shift towards mass production for Ishizuka Glass.

The current Iwakura factory started operating in 1961 during the Showa 36 era. With the expansion of their bottle business alongside their entry into the tableware industry, the brand ADERIA was born at that time.
