In 1942 JEMA Holland was born out of a partnership of two brothers, Jelis and Johan Willem Mager, who took over an existing ceramic works in the city of Maastricht, Netherlands.
Due to the war years and a number of site relocations, it wasn't until 1955 that the brothers created the company name which we're familiar with today, with JEMA coming from the first and second names Jelis (JE) and Mager (MA).
The company produced a variety of ceramics through the peak of the mid-twentieth century, finally closing their doors in 1984.

An absolutely stunning and complete set of five ceramic flying ducks/mallards - just WOW!
This rare set is in great to excellent vintage condition. The colours are bright and shiny. There is some very light crazing but mainly seen on the reverse rather than the front.
Minor flaws to mention - the largest has a couple small chips to the tail; the second smallest has a repair to the neck and the smallest has a small chip to the beak. These are all minor flaws and certainly aren't noticeable when displayed on the wall. All as per the pictures.

Marked 'JEMA Holland' on the reverse - a backstamp we can date to the 1940s/50s.
Model numbers are 50 (largest), 49, 48, 47 and 46 (smallest). Dimensions are 30cm long (largest) to 13cm long (smallest).
