Midwinter Pottery was founded as W.R. Midwinter by William Robinson Midwinter in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in 1910 and had become one of England's largest potteries by the late 1930s with more than 700 employees.
The company produced a selection of beautiful crockery which peaked in the 1960s and 1970s, which included the Stonehenge range of goods. Made in England, various pieces were manufactured in this range which included the Sun (in yellow), Moon (in blue) and Earth (in brown) designs.
