Humppila Glass (Finland)
Humppila Glass was founded in Finland in 1952, by three former glassblowers - coincidentally all brothers- from Finnish manufacturer Nuutajarvi; Jonni, Martti and Olavi Helander.
Some of the well known designers at Humppila during the 1970s included Pertti Santalahti (1941-2015), Kai Blomqvist (1939-), Tauno Wirkkala (1932-2005) and Henrik Koivula (1918-95). Humppila took over the Kumela factory in 1979, and was itself taken over by Nuutajarvi in 1986.
Whilst a smaller factory and one of the lesser known manufacturers, it is considered highly desirable amongst glass collectors worldwide.
