Across the duration of the 1960s and 1970s Japanese glass manufacturers were prolific in producing a range of fabulous vintage glass pieces. A number of companies focused on creating centrepieces, vases and display pieces made specifically for the Western export market.

Cased glass, the art of providing an internal layer of glass (predominantly white/opal), allowed the external colour applied an opportunity to really pop. Bright, colourful and full of life - ready for any display area.

A number of Japanese companies manufactured cased art glass pieces, similar to those and likely inspired by their Italian and Scandinavian glass making counterparts. Radio Glass, Tajima Glass, Iwatsu Glass and Kurata Glass just to name a few.

Unless these pieces are found to retain their original paper or foil labels, it makes it difficult to determine which manufacturer most of these were produced by.
