Humppila Glass was founded in Finland in 1952, by three former glassblowers - coincidentally all brothers- from Finnish manufacturer Nuutajarvi; Jonni, Martti and Olavi Helander.
Some of the well known designers at Humppila during the 1970s included Pertti Santalahti, Kai Blomqvist, Tauno Wirkkala and Henrik Koivula. Humppila took over the Kumela factory in 1979, and was itself taken over by Nuutajarvi in 1986.
Whilst a smaller factory and one of the lesser known manufacturers, it is considered highly desirable amongst glass collectors worldwide.
