Mandruzzato was established in 1934 by Benjamin Mandruzzato on the island of Murano, Italy. The company is family run and today, still in operation, is overseen by Benjamin's grandson, Alessandro Mandruzzato.

The company is well-known for their signature faceted sommerso block vases, originally launching in the 1950s.

Measuring a good 25cm tall, 12cm wide and 6cm deep, this outstanding faceted glass block vase certainly is something else with that WOW factor.

Sommerso glass, made famous on the island of Murano, involves internally layering different coloured glass to get a submerged effect (the English translation of the Italian word, sommerso).

This example has lilac purple submerged in the clear glass.

It's in great to excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. There is what we believe to be a manufacturing flaw in the glass, towards the bottom on one side - last picture attached to show. It's important to note that unless you're looking for it, you can't see it.

This example would be an incredible hero piece - and it's heavy too - coming in at over 2kg!
