An incredible example of sommerso glass, made in Murano, Italy.

We have been unable to identify the correct manufacturer, as with most Murano pieces it's hard to confirm unless a paper label still remains intact. In saying so, this particular piece was likely made circa 1950s/60s by one of the following manufacturers - Seguso Vetri D'Arte, Arte Nuova or Galliano Ferro.

Measuring a huge 29.5cm tall, 14cm wide and 7.5cm deep, this sculptured and organically flowing vase certainly has a wow factor to it. This incredible piece is heavy too, coming in at about 3kg!

Sommerso glass, made famous on the island of Murano, involves internally layering different coloured glass to get a submerged effect (the English translation of the Italian word, sommerso).

This example has deep blue and green, layered into gold and clear glass.

It's in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or major scratches. There are some bubbles in the glass from manufacturing and some extremely light surface scratches, mainly towards the base; expected and seen often in these types of pieces.
