Syroco (USA) Flora Wall Plaques (set x4)
The Syracuse Ornamental Company, known as Syroco, was an American manufacturing company based in Syracuse, New York. They were best known for their moulded wood-pulp products that resembled hand-carving.
Founded in Syracuse, New York in 1890 by immigrant Adolph Holstein, Syroco specialised in decorative wood carving, especially for the local residential market. Products included fireplace mantelpieces and other types of interior decoration popular in late Victorian homes.
A fabulous set of four wall plaques in a diamond shape, with lovely flora designs. Finished in orange on a cream backdrop and a brown wood-like border.
A gorgeous mid-century set; perfect to complete any decor setting, but would look stunning in a mid-century styled lounge room.
Each are identical in size, measuring approx 37cm tall, 14cm wide and 2.5cm deep. All are in great vintage condition with no cracks or major damage, but some light wear and scuff marks as expected with age.
Based on our research we can date these to the 1960s.
