HA Wain and Sons was established in 1837 by Horace Wain at the Melba Works, Gladstone Street, Longton. The company produced fancy earthenware including animals, character figures, vases and garden ware.

Whilst the business closed in 1939 due to the Second World War, in reopened in 1946. They continued produced a numbers of wares and shortly after, created the Melba Ware brand, then registered as a separate company.


THIS LISTING:

A fabulous jardiniere or open vase, in the typical floral design seen across a number of the Melba Ware products. Featured in a lovely dusty pink colour.

Measuring approx 11cm tall (at its tallest point) x 25cm long x 17.5cm wide.

Its in great to excellent vintage condition with little wear, just a small amount of crazing mainly visible on the base. There are no chips or cracks.

Based on the backstamp we can tell this was made in the 1950s.
