J&G Meakin (England) 'South Seas' saucers (x5)
James and George Meakin founded their company, J&G Meakin, in Staffordshire in 1851. Producing a range of well-known and sought-after dinnerware, they had close affiliations with other potters within the same region such as the Johnson Brothers and Alfred Meakin (their brother). These affiliations saw designs and patterns shared across a variety of pieces.
