J&G Meakin (England) 'South Seas' entree plates (x4)
James and George Meakin founded their company, J&G Meakin, in Staffordshire in 1851.
Producing a range of well-known and sought-after dinnerware, they had close affiliations with other potters within the same region such as the Johnson Brothers and Alfred Meakin (their brother). These affiliations saw designs and patterns shared across a variety of pieces.
'South Seas' - in green, yellow, pink and blue
4 x entree plates
All pieces are in good vintage condition, but so show some signs of wear. Light crazing on most, with the pink showing the most. The yellow also has a small hairline crack of about an inch in length, as per the last picture.
