The Fostoria Glass Company was a manufacturer of pressed, blown and hand-molded glassware and tableware. It began operations in Fostoria, Ohio in 1887 on land donated by the townspeople. The company was formed by men from West Virginia who were experienced in the glassmaking business.
In 1915, Fostoria introduced its American pattern, used for stemware and tableware, which was produced until 1988. Described as "block geometric" in its appearance, it was very different from other patterns when it was introduced. It is likely their most recognisable pattern to date.
