A fabulous handled rectangular platter, from Cico, hand-painted in Germany.
Our research tells us that Cico were an independent decorating firm, meaning blank porcelain or ceramic pieces were purchased from well-known manufacturers such as Heinrich, Schramberg or Schmider. These pieces were then decorated in various finishes and branded 'Cico Germany'.
This particular piece would be a wonderful addition to any colour majolica collection.
In excellent vintage condition with no wear to mention, it measures approx 35cm long, 21.5cm wide and 4cm tall.
Based on the backstamp used here we can date this piece to the 1940s, likely post war.
