Duralex was founded in 1945 on the banks of the Loire River just outside of Orleans. In the process of becoming one of the world's most recognisable glassware manufacturers, or possibly because of it, they invented the glass tempering process, but more on that in a bit.
Duralex is most famous for their 'Picardie' glassware, which was named by Business Insider as the drinking glass with the best design. Their other most famous glassware collection is 'Gigogne', which is in the permanent collection of the Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
