The original Hocking Glass Company was founded in 1905 by Isaac Jacob (Ike) Collins in Lancaster, Ohio, and named after the Hocking River. That company merged with the Anchor Cap and Closure Corporation in 1937 to become the now known Anchor Hocking.
Anchor Hocking is one of the best known and largest glass manufacturers in the world and produces a range of glassware under a number of brands, including the Fire-King line of products.
